LORE is an electronic journal (formerly traditional print) edited by a few brave souls in the Rhetoric and Writing Studies Department at San Diego State University. The journal’s focus is on rhetoric, writing, teaching, and culture. LORE publishes essays, research projects, discussions of teaching strategies and practices, creative writing, reviews of books, software, web sites, and interviews. The journal will publish short, informal pieces, as well as longer, more polished works. Basically we are a smorgasbord of written and analytical precision.
We envisage the journal as fulfilling several key roles:
– To make more visible the broad range of writing, teaching and research being carried out in our community.
– To open up space for dialogue, collaboration and exchange.
– To provide graduate students, TAs, lecturers and faculty with a forum for test driving work in progress, and a way of receiving feedback from peers and mentors.
The journal is divided into several main areas:
- Research articles and review essaysWork on classroom practices, pedagogy, and materials
- Position papers
- Reviews
- Creative Writing
- Announcements
- Calls for Papers
